Hello-

I am a native North Carolinian, proud to say I have lived and worked here most all my life

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have practiced Social Work since 1988. I provide psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, adolescents, children and families.

 My Professional Journey-

I received my Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) from NC State University in 1986. Through an advanced standing program at University of South Carolina in Columbia, I earned my Master's Degree in Social Work  (MSW) with an emphasis in Children and Families in 1988. I became licensed (LCSW) by the NC Certification and Licensure  Board in 1993.  Throughout my career, I have compassionately provided treatment through inpatient, outpatient, educational, in-home, public mental health and private settings.

I am trained as a Parenting Coordinator for navigating the communication after divorce.  Court ordered Parenting Coordination is often essential to successful co-parenting.

 My Treatment-

I have a  practical, eclectic approach to therapy.   I draw from a rich resource of experience, employing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), communication therapies, relaxation therapy, Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT), Play Therapy, Family Therapy and Parent Training techniques. I work collaboratively with community professionals, schools, medical providers, insurance companies and extended families to bring the work together, as if in one room.

I have a straight forward vision.  This, wrapped in my Christian faith and humor, I bring the balance needed for those suffering with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief, school problems, attention deficits,  addictions, relationship/marriage problems, family/blended family/aging family struggles and workplace stressors.

Parent Coordination-

Solid communication is essential to successful co-parenting before and after divorce. Clear expectations and strong boundaries are a must and can be learned with diligence. Court Ordered Parenting Coordinator may be suggested to assist this while learning to navigate your new interactions.

My office is quietly nestled in a small office complex conveniently located near Western Wake Medical Hospital in Cary; off Tryon Rd and Kildaire Farm Rd. at 523  Keisler Dr. Suite 103 in Cary 27518.
